The Dual Language Program in the MSD of Lawrence Township is internationally recognized for high levels of academic achievement and serves as a model for bilingual education in Indiana. As the state’s only K–12 Dual Language program, it provides students with the opportunity to become fluent in two languages while mastering core academic content across all subjects.
Grounded in research, this enrichment model values language as both a tool for learning and a bridge between cultures. Students develop strong academic and linguistic skills through instruction delivered in two program languages, allowing them to read, write, speak, and think fluently in both.
The Three Pillars of Dual Language Programming

Students gain the ability to communicate effectively in two languages — speaking, reading, writing, and understanding each as a support for the other.
