Chuck’s Closet: Meeting Needs, Empowering Students
Chuck’s Closet is a vital resource dedicated to supporting students in need across all Lawrence Township schools. At LTSF, we believe that when students’ basic needs are met, they can fully focus on their education and reach their full potential. That’s why we provide essential clothing and nutritious food to help remove barriers to success, allowing students to feel comfortable, confident, and prepared for the school day.

How Chuck’s Closet Works
LTSF partners with family liaisons at each Lawrence Township school to ensure that students facing challenges have access to clothing, personal items, and nutritious food whenever they need them through Chuck's Closet. Through this seamless support system, family liaisons can request specific items for students, enabling them to respond quickly and compassionately to individual needs. Whether it’s a warm coat in winter, a healthy snack, or a new pair of shoes, Chuck’s Closet is here to help.
Empowered Pathways: A Collaboration of Support
In partnership with the Empowered Pathways programs at Lawrence Central and Lawrence North, Chuck’s Closet not only provides essentials but also offers adult learners within Lawrence Township schools an internship opportunity that provides valuable life and job skills that provides an intern experience in organizing and managing the food and clothing pantry. Through this collaboration, students learn the importance of service and community care, becoming active participants in creating a supportive environment for their peers.
Thank You to INAPEF for Supporting Lawrence Township Students
LTSF is deeply grateful to the Indiana Association of Public Education Foundations (INAPEF) for awarding us the 2024 Food Insecurity Grant. With this generous support, we were able to strengthen Chuck’s Closet, our resource pantry serving the MSD of Lawrence Township students and their families.
This funding helped us stock our food pantries ensuring that students have reliable access to nutritious meals and essential supplies throughout the school year. Thanks to INAPEF and its partners, we can continue to address food insecurity, promote equity, and remove barriers to learning for all students in our community.
